With the Christmas and New Year period now a distant memory and the daily grind a reality for most people as they return to work, Mills Motorsport has been non-stop!

Christmas and Boxing Day saw the family at home with quarter midget racing at Terrick Park Raceway, the family race track for a two day event! Caleb and Aj along with their cousin Zoe Pearce thrilled the grand-parents and great grand-parents with their fierce rivalry on the track.

December 27th was to be the last race meeting of the year for the team for Round 4 of the Aussie Jay's Southern Speedcar Tour. They headed to Blue Ribbon Raceway in Horsham and battled the scorching sun all afternoon whilst the track went above and beyond to deliver a race track fit for some open wheel racing. We eventually graced the track at 9.30pm for a flag to flag heat race starting 7th and finishing 3rd. After the delay the program was rushed and it wasn't long before we again went flag to flag for heat 2. Squizzy began on pole and was never headed.

We qualified 2nd for the Amain and took the lead into turn one but Squizzy was eventually reeled in and finished 2nd behind Paul Farrell.

The New Year rolled in and so did the national series, the Speedcar Pro Series. Premier Speedway Warrnambool, one of the best speedways in the country, was host to the foremost Speedcar competition in the country.

The night began well for Squizzy with him showing now signs of hesitation considering the ending to his last trip to the high banks. Timing in fifth quickest it was a great start to the night where time trials account for everything.

After solid results in both the heats (the higher you qualify the further back you start in heats) qualified 7th for the 30 lap Amain.

Due to a series accident involving Victorian driver Robbie Gordon the super 7 race was dropped from the program so it was straight into the Finale.

Mills was off to a great start and maintained his position for the first dozen laps until he literally got caught up with another car and they were unable to untangle themselves and the race was halted while they were separated.

Squizzy restarted the race from the rear of field and persevered lap after lap and retuned to the top 10 all be it with a bent front axle, sustained from the earlier instance.

Whilst we believe Squizzy could have cracked the top five it wasn't to be, but he put in a stellar performance with a tough drive from the rear.

Our next event is 4th Annual G-Town Rumble at Avalon Raceway, Lara on January 17th 2015.
