SQUIZZY'S SIGHTS ON BEASLEY

To Say Squizzy has had a tumultuous start to the season is an understatement!

After cruising to a win in the opening round of the Aussie Jay's Southern Speedcar Tour the season looked promising, but that all came undone on lap 8 of heat 1 at Western Speedway Hamilton for round 2.

Fighting his way forward from a p4 start, Mills took the lead and slowly began to stretch his lead and was fast approaching lap cars. Tragedy struck heading into turn 3. The lap car and Mills made contact which sent poor Squizzy into the catch fence. Unlike the incident at Warrnambool the car took all the impact at the front of the chassis and Squizzy was relatively fine. He was admitted to hospital overnight for observation as a precaution; he was release the following morning with no further medical treatment required.

The however the chassis didn't fare so well. It was completely stripped by mid-afternoon on the Monday and by the next day was well on its way to being repaired at the chassis builder's.

The car has now been completely re-built and is ready to steer Squizzy to another Beasley Family Memorial win!

The Beasley Family Memorial is a race held in high regard in the Victorian Speedcar ranks. With two wins under his belt already Mills is definitely looking to add another, "The honour roll for this event is pretty cool and I'm glad to have my name on it twice already. Mark Brown has won it four times so I'm chasing him down!”

The Beasley Family Memorial is to be run and won this Saturday 29th November at Lara's Avalon Raceway. It is being held in conjunction with the Golden Era Racing Revival. A static display is open for the public between 2pm and 3.30pm and will be followed by a vintage demonstration from 4pm and the regular program scheduled to begin at 6pm.
