BEASLEY FAMILY MEMORIAL

With a first lap indiscretion by another driver causing the 10v Speedcar's withdrawal from our last event at Valvoline Raceway two weeks ago, the team were looking for some solid positive results in the Beasley Family Memorial at Avalon Raceway; their third event back after an 18month hiatus.

The night began well with Squizzy setting the second fastest time in hot laps and then putting the first win on the board in heat one. It looked as though he would also score a win in his second heat until the 6v driven by Queensland’s Anthony Chaffey swooped on the last turn to snatch the win.

Due to time constraints the planned pole shuffle was abandoned in lieu of running a full 30 lap main event.

Starting the main event from p2, with strong competitors all around him, it was always going to be a tough race for Squizzy. Attempting to run the high line, Mills lost several spots early on in the race and unfortunately was never able to regain them, although he came close numerous times but to no avail. At the conclusion of the race Squizzy placed 4th place in this time honoured event.

The Mills Motorsport team next heads to Valvoline Raceway for Round 3 of the Speedcar Super Series on December 10, 2016.
